Depp is most bankable star

Johnny Depp has been voted the top Money-Making Star of 2007.

The annual survey by The Quigley Poll asked the cinema owners to vote for the ten stars which they believe generated the most money for them.

Johnny Depp came first thanks to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

The second place actor was Will Smith, who starred at I Am Legend. He was followed by George Clooney and Matt Damon, who both played in Ocean’s Thirteen. Denzel Washington was fifth with his performance in The Great Debaters and American Gangster. The sixth place was taken by Russell Crowe, who starred at American Gangster and 3:10 to Yuma.

Last but not least came Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, Will Ferrell and Tom Hanks.
