‘Harry Potter’ star Rupert Grint has been a good friend to Lily Allen since she broke up with DJ Ed Simons.

The actor reportedly offered the singer a shoulder to cry on last week, when they were having dinner at London restaurant.

The two met at the ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ premier last summer.

A source told the Daily Star, “They swapped numbers then and although they texted each other quite regularly they didn’t meet up.”

“Then when Lily split from Ed, Rupert offered her a shoulder to cry on and she took it. They get on really well and he makes her laugh. “

The source added, “Last week they enjoyed a Japanese meal together where they had a long intense talk as well as a few laughs. “
